Position Summary

The Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for an experienced board certified full-time academic cardiac surgeon to join our Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. This individual will serve as the system-wide clinical and strategic leader for Cardiac Surgery within the UNC Health Heart & Vascular Service Line (HVSL). ... Responsibilities will include surgical management of heart failure, cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, aortic and coronary artery surgery, surgical and transcatheter management of valvular disease. Other responsibilities will include teaching residents and students and conducting research commensurate with their academic rank.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

MD, Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Surgeon. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an academic surgeon required.
