Career & Life Design Coach
Coach students in career and life design strategies through individual appointments and group setting s. Initiates and supports programming and events. Manages related outreach to students, student organizations, employers, and alumni. Liaise with related campus partners and support the objectives and activities of the Career & Life Design Center.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group coaching sessions
- Design, plan, and support career and life design programs to support experiential learning including events, trainings, panels, conferences, and networking activities. Assess effectiveness of programs and evaluate changing needs.
- Document coaching sessions (e.g., individual appointments, email, Zoom, and telephone consultations) in content management system (Handshake) to be used for data compilation
- Serve as liaison to campus partners to develop strategies for communication and collaborative programming.
- Represent Center and College at meetings, conferences, and events both on and off campus.
- Support team-wide initiatives focused on international students
- Lead and provide occasional support for evening and weekend events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree - Higher Education, Counseling, Social work, Business or related field
- 1-3 Years Work Experience

- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and adapt to changes in a schedule on short notice
- Exceptional human relations/customer service skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Exceptional communication (written and oral) skills
- Ability to develop, implement, and lead programming and events
- Skill in program planning, implementation, and management
- Ability to train team members or student employees and schedule/coordinate work and activities of others
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders/constituencies
- Knowledge of career and industry trends and resources, career coaching skills
