Early Childhood Education Practicum Supervisor
Qualifications Required
A Master's degree in Early Childhood Education OR a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Early Childhood Education in addition to two years of related experience is required. Quality written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse student population are needed.
General Summary
This position entails representing the institution while overseeing and supporting students enrolled in practicum experiences. Responsibilities include matching students with institution-approved sites, ensuring completion of required background checks, verifying prerequisite fulfillment, and providing resources for lesson planning and teaching. The practicum supervisor will conduct at least one observation per semester and uphold reporting procedures for student conduct. Additionally, they support students in developing ethical and professional skills and may assist in practicum relocations under special circumstances. This role is pivotal in facilitating students' successful completion of practicum credits and fostering their professional growth in accordance with institutional standards. The practicum supervisor will additionally assume responsibility for offering feedback and assigning grades upon students' submission of coursework corresponding to their practicum. This position will require travel, with all mileage expenses reimbursed, or the use of a Central Community College vehicle. The travel schedule is at the discretion of the employee and will not require overnight stays.
