Position Summary
A SIGN-ON BONUS OF $3,000 IS AVAILABLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR THIS POSITION PAID IN 2 INSTALLMENTS WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF HIRE. $1,500 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE AND $1,500 12 MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE.
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is a key player in the day-to-day operations of the ASOD Graduate Periodontology Clinic, supporting Graduate Program Director, clinic and program. This position is directly responsible for numerous patient, resident and faculty interactions on a daily basis that help ensure clinical and fiscal success. As a first point of contact for patient concerns, resident logistical matters and interdepartmental questions, this position represents our clinic with outstanding professionalism and service. The PCC will be responsible for clinical operations including but not limited to facilitating patient assignment, monitoring the fiscal health of the Graduate Periodontology Program and the productivity of its residents, managing quality of care and providing support to the Graduate Program Director for the overall success of the program.
This position will guide, organize and monitor activities of the ASOD Graduate Periodontology Clinic, as well as collaborate with the other PCCs in the Department to effect quality patient care. This is done through accurate documentation, ongoing education and coordination of the team’s operations. The PCC in Graduate Periodontology Program will be closely monitoring and provide coordination of patient care in the Graduate Periodontology clinic to assure efficient delivery of high quality patient-centered-care; tracking the performance of residents to ensure that residents provide excellent patient management and that residents are receiving the appropriate educational experiences and are progressing towards competence and graduation; will participate in and help coordinate the delivery, development and continuous improvement of the Program; will participate in the risk management process by acting as compliance officer and as an ombudsman/ombudswoman in the clinic; will provide supervision of others.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina.
Management Preferences
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical dental hygiene practices, periodontal patient care, and applicable clinical standards and protocols. Ability to utilize electronic patient record systems, generate reports, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse patients, residents, faculty, staff, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment while supporting resident education, patient care, and clinic operations. Degree in Dental Hygiene preferred, along with experience in Periodontology, supervisory/team environments, and/or administrative clinical support functions.
