Description
The Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute (CKSRI) (https://ri.hkust.edu.hk/) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for substantiation-track faculty positions at the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor for the 2026-2027 academic year. Successful candidates will hold appointments in the appropriate academic departments. We are looking for outstanding candidates in the area of embodied AI and medical robots. Research areas of interest include but are not limited to Control and Autonomy, Embodied AI, Robot Learning, Physical AI, Surgical Robots, Rehabilitation Robots, Healthcare Robots, etc.
Qualifications
All candidates must have a PhD degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, or related fields by the time of appointment. The salary and startup package are highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include medical/dental benefits and annual leave. Housing will also be provided where applicable. Assistant Professor appointments will initially be on a three-year contract. A gratuity will be payable upon completion of the contract. Candidates will be interviewed by appropriate department search committees.
