Dr. Travis Wheeler's lab at the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy invites applicants to apply for the position of Scientific Analyst II. This is a part-time position that will be done remote in California.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform genome-scale identification and classification of transposable element (TE) families across target eukaryotic genomes.
• Apply knowledge of TE biology and classification systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manually validate computational results, resolve ambiguous classifications, and integrate findings with established TE ontologies (e.g., Repbase, Dfam) and community libraries.
• Interact with internal and external collaborators on TE annotation and genomics projects.
