- Remuneration: $111,341 to $120,557 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $94,084 to $101,872 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
- Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Technician, End User Computing to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.
The Senior Technician, End User Computing will work within a small team environment to ensure the effective delivery and management of frontline learning and teaching computing environments for staff and students at QUT. As the Senior Technician you will support the deployment, maintenance and lifecycle management of computing devices in student computing labs, lecture theatres, and other collaborative spaces. You will work to ensure these environments are equipped with reliable, contemporary technology that supports the diverse learning and teaching capabilities of the university community. The position will maintain the Managed Operating Environment (Windows and MacOS), using device and OS management platforms such as Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager, Microsoft InTune, and Jamf Cloud. Additionally, the role also involves packaging, deploying, and supporting software applications from the university’s Enterprise Software Catalogue. You will take a proactive approach to software updates and enhancements, ensuring compliance with agreed version controls and compatibility with hardware and network infrastructure. The Senior Technician will contribute towards the development of virtualised platforms for learning and teaching, leveraging contemporary approaches and technology to deliver specialised virtual desktops and software available to students on their personal devices. This position reports to the Team Leader, Student Environment for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed
1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in an IT related field with subsequent relevant experience.
2. Demonstrated experience in supporting Windows, and macOS, operating systems, including experience using contemporary enterprise management platforms.
3. Proven ability to maintain a client-centric approach, with strong skills in identifying and documenting clients’ requirements, excellent problem-solving abilities, and ensuring effective communication with clients.
4. Demonstrated experience in coordinating small IT projects and participating in continual service improvement initiatives, with the ability to proactively manage technology fleets and implement preventive solutions.
5. Strong understanding of ITIL processes and demonstrated experience in applying these principles in a complex environment, with the capability to develop and maintain thorough documentation for support processes and solutions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide expert advice, training, and guidance to staff and students, and experience in developing engaging Knowledge and How-To guides to enhance user understanding and efficiency.
