Simulation Center Faculty Coordinator
Job Summary
This is an administrative appointment within the College of Graduate Nursing is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role (PCN A03789, 0.1FTE) and the faculty role of Assistant Professor (PCN F03211, 0.5FTE) holds a 0.6FTE with a combined salary of $70,304.
The Simulation Center Faculty Coordinator serves as a liaison between the simulation center operations and pre-licensure faculty curricular needs to further develop practice-ready graduates. The coordinator holds a faculty appointment and will also teach in the MSN-Entry Program. The position reports to the Director of the MSN-Entry Program. This is a grant-funded position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate with others, both in person and by using computers, telephones, and written communications. Ability to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.
- Ability to provide academic and professional leadership in policy formulation related to simulation.
- Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to use a personal computer and to access information through the Internet and communicate via e-mail.
- Ability to work with and cooperate with supervisory personnel at all levels.
- Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.
- Knowledge of historic and current nursing education practices and standards impacting curricula and simulation.
- Knowledge and skill with the application of computer-based learning principles and practices.
- Knowledge and skill with the application of distance learning principles and standards.
- Committed to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
- Must possess a current and valid license as a registered nurse and be BRN-approved for teaching in a required subject area.
Experience:
- Minimum of (1) year experience in simulation, either at a health care facility or university setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Doctorate in Nursing or related field.
Licensure:
- National certification.

Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
